AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X, the 64-core HEDT processor

Continuing the line of AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 processors with Zen 2 architecture engraved in 7 nm which already includes the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X of 24 cores and 3970X of 32 cores, AMD had pre-announced at the end of 2019 a Ryzen Threadripper 3990X processor of 64 cores / 128 threads.

Here it is, which is completely revealed at the CES 2020 fair, delivering its last details. Positioned at the top of the HEDT (High-End Desktop) market, the monster finally operates at 2.9 GHz in base frequency and climbs to 4.3 GHz in Boost.

With a TDP of 280 Watts, like the other Ryzen Threadripper 3000, it benefits from 288 MB of cache and operates a PCIe 4.0 interface with 88 lines as well as quad-channel DDR4 memory up to 3200 MHz.
